JP STEVENSON CLAIMS MAAC CONFERENCE ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM HONOURS

EBA Alumni JP Stevenson finished out his freshman season in style at Canius College (NCAA Div 1) as he claims MAAC CONFERENCE ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM honours along with three other teammates, Connor Panas, Mike Kirsche and Jack Massa.

Stevenson had a great start to his college baseball career as he finished out conference play by being named the starter for the final Championship Game where the Griffs wasted little time getting on the board, as they scored five runs in the first two frames to jump out to an early 5-1 lead. A five-run fourth inning put Canisius up 10-2, which ended up being more than enough run-support for Stevenson, who earned the win as the Griffs’ starter after he allowed two runs on six hits while fanning a career-high nine and walking just one.

Stevenson finished up the season with a 7-4 record in 18 appearances throwing 73 innings while only walking 18 batters in those 73 innings! These stats were good enough to gather most wins on the pitching staff (tied with Sr Devon Stewart) 2nd most innings pitched, along with the 2nd least amount of walks for pitchers with 28+ innings thrown.

Not bad for a freshman!

Stevenson will now join the Medicine Hat Mavericks of the Western Major Baseball League (WMBL) in western Canada where he will condition and prepare himself for the 2016 college campaign.

From the EBA Coaching Staff - EXCELLENT JOB JP, great start to your bright collegiate future ahead of you!!
