EBA instructor selected as Head Coach of Holland College Hurricanes baseball team

EBA instructor Andrew MacNevin will take the reins as Holland College Hurricanes Head Coach when they look to start their entry into the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association (CCBA) come September 2014.

MacNevin has been with EBA for the past two seasons as the Hitting and Infield instructor where he gets to utilize his diverse baseball background which he learned from his playing days at Niagara University (NCAA Div1), the Jr National Team along with his collegiate coaching background at Niagara County CC where he was the recruiter and Assistant Coach.

MacNevin had this to say about his opportunity as Head Coach with the Hurricanes, “I am truly honoured and privileged to be named the head baseball coach at Holland College,” MacNevin said. “I’ve already had the opportunity to speak to some of the student-athletes and have received tremendous feedback. I would like to compliment Holland College and their athletic department for putting Holland College into the position to bring collegiate baseball to Prince Edward Island. I believe this program has a bright future and the capacity to be very competitive in the Atlantic Conference”.

EBA will look to do it’s part in helping expose the Hurricanes Baseball Team to the rest of the baseball community in PEI, whether that be as a sponsor or another form publicity has yet to be determined.

As a huge supporter of baseball on PEI EBA looks forward to seeing college baseball starting up on PEI in the fall of 2014.

EBA wishes MacNevin the best of luck during the 2014 season and beyond!
