Southpaw JP Stevenson commits to Vauxhall Academy

Eastern Baseball Academy (EBA) southpaw JP Stevenson has committed to Vauxhall Academy in Alberta.

This coming fall JP Stevenson will be attending his grade 11 and possibly grade 12 year at Vauxhall Academy in Alberta where he will pitch at an elite baseball program which offers a 100+ game schedule from September to June and along with practicing or playing every day to develop his skills as he prepares himself for the possibility of playing in the college baseball ranks. During this time frame JP will be able to combine his high school studies and his love for baseball as one package and will be the 2nd player this year Eastern Baseball Academy has been able to place into an elite baseball program.

Over the past 2 years JP has been developing his Pitching skills in EBA’s four month long Pitchers Boot-camp which runs from January - April of each year. JP came into that program two years ago throwing 68-69 mph and is now toping out at 80mph! This accomplishment has been done through thousands of repetitions of his delivery trying to get it right every single time. Once JP gets to Vauxhall we hope to see him reach 85mph as he will be given the chance to throw everyday and develop increased arm strength. JP has also been developing secondary skills in EBA’s 6 month winter training program for the last two years.

Les MacTavish very much expressed his excitement over JP committing to Vauxhall as MacTavish was in contact with the young lefty as soon as he saw the scouting video!

Eastern Baseball Academy is very please to have Stevenson continue his High School education while playing baseball at an elite level with Vauxhall Academy and congratulate JP on having this opportunity.

Stevenson is the 4th player in the last 2 years that EBa has sent to a High School baseball in western Canada and we look forward to continued success with the quality players we develop through our programs.
